Bilfinger SE Stands Securely on Retarus Managed E-Mail Services
International engineering and services group Bilfinger SE now uses Retarus Managed E-Mail Services to handle its email correspondence. One of the reasons for Bilfinger’s decision was the fact that Retarus was the only company able to provide email, fax and SMS services from a single source. The IT strategy set out by CEO Roland Koch includes a centralized email system and replacement of the group’s various email domains by a single one – bilfinger.com. This switch was implemented using Retarus’ user-based routing where every email addressed to Bilfinger Berger mailboxes is directly forwarded to the required target systems rather than being redirected via the central email server. The end-to-end solution provided by Retarus ensures smooth and efficient email communication, while at the same time allowing Bilfinger to integrate its formerly independent subsidiaries into the same centralized IT landscape. Some 12,000 users were connected to the Managed E-Mail Services back in November 2012, and this number is set to rise to 30,000 by the end of 2013. The next steps will involve integrating Bilfinger’s SAP systems and implementing Retarus’ fax and SMS services to complement the email services currently in place there.
