The North Face®, the world’s premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear, issues its first public online sustainability report highlighting The North Face as a sustainability innovator among apparel companies.
The report, based on 2010 figures, outlines The North Face’s core focus on sustainability, including its biggest impacts and programmes around product, energy, waste and the community. Online readers will learn that, for example, through partnership with bluesign® The North Face has reduced primary environmental impacts such as:
Energy – Energy efficiency. Savings: 3.8 million kg Co2*
- Water –Water use reduction and wastewater treatment. Savings: 56 million gallons
- Chemicals – Safe selection and reduction. Savings: 5,933 barrels
